The Races

Apart from the Spud & Spoon race, races will commence from Moat Farm Close, Greenfield and finish at The White Hart, Flitton; the distance is a mile. You can run, walk, or stagger as long as you use your own feet and you can keep the potatoes kindly donated by Isle of Ely Produce.

The Mile - 20kg for over 16's

• Starts 12 midday
• Entry fee £10 per person (£15 on the day if available)
  
• Trophy and £200 cash prize donated by McCains for 1st place, 2nd place £100 and 3rd place £50!
  

• Starts 12 midday
  
• Entry Fee £10 (£15 on the day if available) 
• Cash prizes: 1st £100, 2nd £50, 3rd £25.
  

Junior - 5kg for 14-16 year olds

• Starts 12.10 pm
• Entry Fee £5 (£10 on the day if available) 
• Prizes for the first 3 to finish!
  

Youngsters - Run carrying a potato  11-13 year olds

• Starts 12.10 pm
• Entry fee £5 (£10 on the day if available)
• Prizes for the first 3 to finish!
  

 NEW THIS YEAR: Youth Team Relay!

• 10kg for 16-17 year olds.
• Starts 12.20pm.
• Entry fee £20 per team (£30 on the day if available).
• Prizes for the first 3 teams to finish, and a trophy for the winning team!
  

Adult Team Challenges - over 18's only

• Relay team of 4 men, each runner carrying 20kg potatoes for 0.25 mile
• Relay team of 4 ladies, each runner carrying 10kg potatoes for 0.25 mile  
• Start approx 12.30
• Entry fee £40 per team (£50 on the day if available)
• Each winning team gets £100 cash, with a barrel of beer for the 20kg heroes!
• There is also a prize for the best fancy dress!
  

Spud & Spoon race for children aged 10 and under

• Course starts at the bottom of Sand Road and finishes at The White Hart
• Start approx. 12.40 p.m. 
• Entry fee £2 (£3 on the day)

Prizegiving at The White Hart @ 1pm with trophies and prizes, kindly donated by local businesses, where there will be family games and a BBQ. 

To guarantee a place, completed forms and payment (cheques payable to "Flitton Potato Race") to be received no later than 8pm Wednesday 19th June by Jeremy Lewis, 24 High Street, Flitton, Beds, MK45 5DU, or Phil Hale at The White Hart, Flitton.

After this deadline, places are subject to availability of sacks, payment of a higher entry fee, and your details will not be printed in the souvenir programme.
