The Races
You can run the whole mile yourself or split the distance in a relay team of four. There are race categories for all ages, including Spud & Spoon races for children aged 9 and under.
Key Timings
10:00 - 11:30 Race registrations for all runners (including Spud and Spoon) at The Village Hall.
12:00 - 12:30 Races start at Moat Farm, Greenfield.
12.40 Spud & spoon races start from The Village Hall and Sand Road, Flitton.
14:00 approx Prize-giving, entertainment and celebrations behind The White Hart pub.
15:00 approx Raffle and competition prize draws.

Individual races 🏃
Adult Individual Mile for ages 17+
Open race runners carry 20kg
Women’s race runners carry 10kg
Cash prizes for first, second and third place in each weight
Veterans prizes for the first placed man and woman aged 45 or over
Entry fee £24 per person (£19.20 early bird)
Youth Individual Mile for ages 10-16
Runners aged 14-16 carry 5kg
Runners aged 10-13 carry 2kg
Prizes for first, second and third place in each weight
Entry fee £10 (£8 early bird)
🥔🥄 Spud & Spoon Races
for children aged 9 and under
A longer course (advised for 6-9 year olds) starts in waves at the village hall at approx 12:40
A shorter course (advised for under 6s) starts in waves at the bottom of Sand Road after the longer course runners have passed
Entry fee £6

Adult Team Relay for ages 17+
Relay team of 4, each runner covering ¼ mile
Teams in the open category carry 20kg
Teams of four women carry 10kg
Prizes for first, second and third place in each weight
Veterans relay - all runners must be aged 45 or over - 10kg bag, prize for first place
Entry fee £50 per team (£40 early bird)
Cadet Team Relay for ages 15-17
Relay team of 4, each runner carrying 10kg for ¼ mile
Sack of potatoes to be carried in single rucksack 🎒
Open to recognised uniformed youth organisations
Team can be mixed genders
Entry fee £30 per team (£24 early bird)

When will bookings close?
Bookings are due to close on Thursday 4th June 2026. However, we reserve the right to close bookings for some or all race categories at any time. We often have to close bookings early to ensure we have enough timing chips and potatoes.
It is likely that the Spud & Spoon races will sell out well before this date.
